Soup... Soup

Our LG likes spinach soup, so it appears in our food list almost every weekly.

Today's dinner ends up with 2 kinds of soup.

1.  White fungus with pig stomach soup

As there is still balance of  'pig stomach' yesterday, I cooked it  with white fungus.  To make sure meat is more tender, it is cooked with slow cooker for 5 hours.

2.  Stewed chicken wings

3.  Spinach soup

Childhood Memories ....... 2

Another home-style dish which we used to eat during younger days, is. 'Pig Stomach in Salty Vege Soup'.

Some times we have this in restaurant but they are selling 'quality' and not 'quanity', so we cannot satisfied our taste bud.  This is my first try out and yet the soup is really so good.  Yeah, good try.

A culinary researcher, Mrs Hoshizawa in Dosanko Cooking (a popular Japanese TV cooking programme) has quoted " Always self-praise yourself on the good food you have cooked as this will boost your motivation to create great cuisine".

1.  Pig Stomach Salty Vege Soup

     Note to remember:
  1. Always boil 'pig stomach' in whole piece, do not cut into small piece before cooking,  otherwise, you will be eating 'latex'....  This is tips and experience from the butcher.
  2. Slow boil for at least 2 hours with white pepper, red dates, salty vege. and it will simply taste yummy.

2.  Mixed braised bean curb skin, bean curb,
      meat ball, prawn, etc

Childhood Memories....... 1

I remember when I was younger, mum cooked 'bean sprout minced pork' soup for us.  Dad will asked to add some 'pig blood' - sound disgusting, yeah.

"SN", do you still remember this ?

This is not a common dish in West Malaysia, I guess.   When I told the veggie seller to sell me little 'bean sprout' just enough for a bowl of soup.  He looked at me with a kind of expression and commented "tau geh can make soup?"

Well,  today I have prepared for my family ................

1.  Minced pork, fish paste with egg pan cake

2.  Bean sprout soup
           (I add tofu instead)

3.  Broccoli with prawn

Deep Fried Pork

It has been long time since I last cook deep fried pork.

Usually in restaurant there is 'Ko Lu Yok' in Cantonese or "Sweet & sour pork'.  As we all  do not like sweet & sour sauce, I save one step to prepare the sauce.    Surprising the pork is tender and it taste good, hope all family members like it as well.

1.  Deep fried pork and mushroom

2.  Seafood with vege
